Richard Fromm, MD, FACS

Dr. Richard Fromm - Dalton Surgical GroupDr. Fromm grew up in Dalton after moving from Puerto Rico in 1978. He was a member of the University of Georgia Football Team from 1984 to 1986, and received his BS Degree in Biology in 1987. He graduated with honors from the Medical College Of Georgia in 1991, and completed his surgical residency at East Tennessee State University James H. Quillen College Of Medicine in 1996. He joined Dalton Surgical Group in 1996.

Dr. Fromm has special interests in Advanced Laparoscopic Procedures including Single Site Surgery (Sils), Bariatric Surgery, Cancer Surgery, and Vascular Surgery. He currently serves as Chairman of the Medical Staff at the Ambulatory Surgery Center. He has previously served as Chief of Surgery and the Director of the Trauma Department at Hamilton Medical Center. He maintains active memberships with the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, Southern Medical Association, AOA Medical Honor Society, and Medical Association of Georgia.

He is married with three children, and is an active member of First Baptist Church Dalton. He has been elected and is currently serving on the school board for the City of Dalton. His hobbies include spending time with his family, traveling, and playing golf.
